Every individual can earn the skills to participate and find success in music. Our program supports and enriches student ear training and music reading skills through interval recognition. Our exercises are intended to be performed by individual students as a supplement to the work you are already doing in your classroom and music lesson activities.
Each lesson is sequenced to progressively add intervals, allowing students to build confidence in their music reading skills as they progress. The levels should be completed in succession as enrichment activities. The pages of each collection are similarly laid out with the scale at the top and the music to know at the bottom.
Add encouragement by using our Coins of the Realm - little collectible charms that give students a reward for their hard work. We enjoy doing the things we are good at and each new coin becomes a visual reminder of what we know and have learned. Student Memory Books offer another fun reminder of student progress toward the grand prize of music literacy.
Multiple collections allow for varying student needs and each new standards-based collection builds on the last to allow for differentiating student learning. The Kingdom of Music Literacy series includes multiple time signatures, key signatures, tonalities and clefs to provide interest and variety.
In our performing ensembles, the success of each individual supports the overall quality of the ensemble. However, the ability to participate is dependent on the skills of each individual. Each collection includes practice strategies to develop music reading skills and encourage excellence. Every student can progress through this supplemental program used within your classroom over time with many students.
Teachers love the Kingdom of Music Literacy program! Our variety of available materials caters to teachers who are pressed for time or photocopying resources. With specific step-by-step instructions including practice strategies, our bass and treble clef collections are useful for all aspiring musicians, be they singers or instrumentalists. Various time signatures support students’ rhythmic development. An objective rubric for student self-assessment or teacher use is included.
The Kingdom of Music Literacy is based in Connecticut, USA.
